Weather Help
Purpose
The Weather module is your friendly forecast buddy, providing the local forecast to help decide if you need an umbrella, a sweater or just a sunny smile.
How to Access
- From the Main Menu, press the Up or Down arrow until you hear or see Weather.
- Press Enter to open Weather.
Navigation & Controls
- Up/Down Arrows: Move through items.
- Escape: Go back to the Main Menu.
- Spacebar: Read the entire forecast aloud or pause/resume if it’s already speaking.
Using Weather
- View Today’s Forecast: Once in the Weather module, you’ll find today’s weather conditions, such as temperature, chance of rain and more.
- Change Location: If you need to change your weather location, from the main menu choose Settings > App Settings > Weather.
Tips & Tricks
- Read It Aloud: Press Spacebar to have your forecast read to you automatically.
Teaching Tips
- Flat menu: Weather’s simple list requires only Up/Down navigation. There's no sub-menus, making it an ideal first app for users who are new to software navigation.
- Familiar content: The main weather information appears right at the top in everyday terms, so users won’t be tripped up by technical jargon.
- Ordered hourly forecast: Each hour is announced in numerical order, reinforcing a predictable up/down sequence.
